At a good site, wind turbines represent a relatively low-cost method of micro-renewable electricity generation thus reducing carbon emissions. They can bring increased security of electricity supply to non-grid connected locations and give some protection against electricity price rises.
You will receive Renewable Obligations Certificates (ROCs) for all the electricity you generate, providing you have a total generation meter.
These can then be sold to electricity generators to allow them to meet their targets to derive a specified proportion of the electricity they supply to their customers from renewables.
A business consumer can benefit from onsite generation of power by qualifying for exemption from the Climate Change Levy.
You can also be paid for any surplus electricity you are able to supply to the Grid providing you install a bi-directional meter.
After six months your wind turbine production will have offset the energy used to make it and you will be offsetting the pollution that would have been made by your utility company.

PROVEN 2.5 |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The 2.5 Kw Proven wind turbine can make a substantial contribution to the power required by electrical appliances in a 3 bedroom house (excluding heating). The robust 2.5 is also ideal for small lighting systems (Network Rail Stations, Sainsburys) and offshore power (Shell North Sea Oil Platforms).
Several hundred of these turbines have been successfully installed worldwide. Surviving everything from hurricanes and cyclones to freezing cold temperatures in the arctic and scalding heat in the desert.

PROVEN 6 |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The Proven 6 produces up to 6 Kw of power, this provides around three times the amount of power than a 2.5 Kw wind turbine and is therefore better suited to a larger house or to someone who wants to generate an excess of electricity for exporting onto the national grid. Schools are using the Proven 6 to generate electricity as well as educate their students, and multiple turbines can be used to power offices or retail units (BP service Stations). |

PROVEN 15 |
|
| |
|
|
| |
the most recent addition to our product range is the Proven 15. The power generated from this model gives it the capability of producing 15 Kw, this would be suitable for large dwellings, small holdings, community projects. Depending on energy usage there maybe a further opportunity to sell excess energy back to the national grid. |

What is the life span of a wind turbine?
|
| |
Our turbines have a design life of 25 years. |
| |
|
| |
What is the lowest speed at which a wind turbine will generate electricity? |
| |
Our turbines start to produce electricty at wind speeds of 2.5m/sec. |
| |
|
| |
How much space do I need for a wind turbine? |
| |
Each turbine requires, for installation purposes, an area of land at least equivalent to 2.5 times the height of the mast and a width of the rotor diameter plu s2 metres are required. Lorry access is also necessary - for servicing, the mast will need to be lowered. |
| |
|
| |
How noisey are the wind turbines? |
| |
Our turbines are direct drive, so have no gearbox noise. They are designed to operate at low speeds so are quiet. In general th ewind makes more noise than the turbine and it it unlikely that any noise can be heard at 50m away. |
